Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week - Miami

Ok so here is the backstage scoop. Mike just finished with the press preview in the penthouse of the Raleigh Hotel in South Beach for Sports Illustrated model Tori Praver's new swimwear collection. He went down to the lounge of the hotel and saw a tall very attractive woman talking with the staff of MBFW. When she turned toward him he realized it was Whitney Port of MTV's "The City," a spin off of "The Hills" with Lauren Conrad. He headed over to the tents for the Mara Hoffman runway show, and inside he saw extra video cameras and heard grumbling from the photo pit about the best views being taken over by MTV. Then he saw "The City's" Olivia Palermo, Whitney Port's nemesis on the show. Next thing he knew Whitney was inside. It all made sense. Whitney used to work for People's Revolution, a PR company that reps many well known designers. Lauren Conrad works for People's Revoloution. Apparently Mara Hoffman's ready to wear collections played an integral role in a plot point on "The Hills." He saw a sign at the tent entrance saying that the show was going to be videotaped. Soooo, Mike says to keep an eye out for the next season of "The City" on MTV and if the camera pans the conglomeration of photographers, you will find Mike Chaiken in the backrow doing his best to see over the MTV's video crew. Nice job Mike thanks for the scoop. Photos on our style spotlight page.
